Steps for egg donation

One: Complete the initial application form and return to CRM by fax (407-740-7262) or mail to or drop off at 3435 Pinehurst Ave. in Orlando, FL 32804.

Two: A nurse will contact qualified applicants for a “nurse consult” to discuss basics of egg donation.

Three: A physical exam is scheduled with the physician along with medical history, blood and urine screening and ultrasound. Takes about two hours.

Four: Psychological screening with a licensed counselor. If married, we ask that your spouse attend as well.

Five: Matched with a recipient couple. You may be placed on birth control pills for 1-2 months while cycles are synchronized.

Six: Meet with nurse to learn how to give yourself injections and to review your medication schedule.

Seven: Begin fertility medications – given over a period of 10-14 days – during which you will have blood and ultrasound monitoring approximately every other day.

Eight: Once the eggs are ready “the retrieval” will be scheduled. You will have intravenous (IV) sedation. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. You will remain in recovery for approximately one hour following the retrieval. Plan on spending the remainder of the day resting.

Nine: Two weeks later, a follow-up ultrasound is scheduled to see that everything has returned to normal.
